Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WRMSDs) are chronic conditions that are caused or aggravated by everyday workplace activities. Unlike acute injuries, WRMSDs develop gradually from repeated exposure to a variety of risk factors. In sonography, WRMSDs are usually caused when sonographers employ poor postures, improper positioning of the patient, scanner, workstation, and/or probe, engage in repetitive activities without adequate rest, and struggle to obtain diagnostic images. In this on-demand webinar brought to you by GE HealthCare, guest presenter Allyson Boyle, MHA, ACS, RDCS, FASE, will discuss how, if sonographers learn to pay attention to their posture, positioning of the patient and equipment, and strive to reduce struggle time by administering an ultrasound enhancing agent (UEA), they may help avoid developing WRMSDs.
