Echo In Cardiac Mechanical Support Course Description:
The use of cardiac support devices is increasing, making it important to understand how echocardiography can be used to help manage patients with these devices. This course provides an introduction on the role of echocardiography in VV ECMO as well as VA ECMO, and includes case presentations. The use of Impella and IABP are also reviewed, emphasizing patient selection, complications, and monitoring strategies to improve outcomes in cardiogenic shock and critical care settings.
